Click at full throttle on accelerator? Video attached

Featured Replies

Is this normal? Clicking noise/feel when pushing all the way down on the accelerator.

Excuse the diy trainers.

If you have DSG then yes - it is the kick down feature to make it drop as many cogs as possible and rocket you forward...

If you have manual I'm not sure (some manual cars have it to override a speed limiter, but don't think the Octy has one so I'm gonna suggest on a manual it shouldn't do this...)

Pretty sure the manual guys mentioned a while back that they had the click too

Yep it's there on the manual and when pressed it'll override Eco mode and give you full throttle.

Excellent thanks.

I do have the manual tdi.

i'd think it'd be a waste for Skoda, or any car manufacturer for that matter to have 2 different accelerators, one for auto and one for manual, just for the sake of a 'click'. Easier and cheaper to have a pedal that can be used for every car.

Mine has the click, as did a recent A3 I drove, and my old mondeo, focus and fiesta, although in the fords it wasnt as much of a click, as it was a 'bump' of sorts, all for auto gearbox kickdowns
