Citygo Rear Lights

Featured Replies

I was waiting in a Skoda showroom today and had a wander round the Citygo.

On closer inspection I noticed that all three tail light bulbs were twin-filament.

This is strange. I appreciate that the top bulb is dual function (brake / tail), as is the lower bulb (fog / tail), but the middle bulb (tail only) is also twin-filament.

Anyone know what additional function this bulb performs?

I know some cars have two sets of brake lights, the second only ever lights up under heavy / emergency braking (most BMW's), but Skoda's tend to use the flashing brake light function as their emergency feature.

Just wondering if anyone knows!

I do believe there are two tail/brake bulbs in each unit. One of mine blew but I still had a working brake light that side. Will check it out just to be sure.

I've noticed that under normal operation only the top bulb performs the role of the brake light.

However it would be neat if when the top bulb blew the middle bulb took over the brake light function!
