Software upgrades?

Featured Replies

Further to my first service post...............

I had decided to use the SKODA dealer near to me then found out they closed in Feb???

My local garage has a good reputation and said they will do the service, with genuine parts etc, for about £90 all in.

Question is twofold now.................

1)  How important is it to get the SKODA stamp in the service book?

2)  Is there anything my local guy could NOT do, like software upgrades, if there are any??

Confused of Surrey.

How important depends on the if you will be running it into the ground or selling it on (some people will only go for a car with manufactor service history). I'm not sure about if you choose to part ex, as they only ever ask if its got service history. As for warranty reasons as long as OME parts are used and the garage is VAT registered then your warranty should be fine.

Updates I think you'd probably have to go to the dealer for this. Other than that most Indies have computer systems to link up to most cars.
