hi all

i have been told by pretty much everybody that my new wheels arent going to fit but am not giving up since cost me alot of pennies

the spec of the wheels is as follows 17" 8j 5x120(with adapters to 5x100) 16mm et35

now i do realise that the poke is going to be stupid but is there any advice people can give me other than your an idiot or mad/ wont fit

i will be getting arches rolled and pulled

Fit 195/40 tyres.

try them on

if they rub.. get arches rolled

they WILL fit the rear 100% with NO modification

they might poke about 4/5mm at the front + will omly catch if your low. You can modify the front arch liner to stop them catching so probably wont need rolling either

Are your wheels BBS RC090's by any chance?

Rears will be fine front may poke abit for some peoples liking but will fit. I have et16 8.5s on the rear now and when I get my bbs on they will be et10 8j 17 inch. You could afford to go to 20mm spacers on the rear.

no there not mate but they have been a ballache had to buy spiggot rings adapters and now 4 new 195 40 17 tyres and away to archwerx on saturday to get arches modified

 

atm mate my back wheels is tucked under the arch and there is 10mm of room between arch and tyre wall now willitfit.com say that comapred to my setup now wheel will stick out 31mm more -_-

U shudnt have to modify rears

i had 17x8.5 et21 on my rears before i had my arches rolled n still room

if uv got tyres n adapters then fit the wheels

Then see if they need any arch mods on the front.. tbh u can modify the front arch liners yourself.. no need 2 pay sum1 unless they 100% need rolling

looks better than it sounds mate but new wheels are white so had to change everything to white haha

 

well atm i have 17 inch spiders with thhe adjusters taken out on the coilover and nicely tucked but everytime i hit a bump or anything it catches a bit or smacks of the arch liner i assume ? joe how low are you on back and front so you dont think need to get arches rolled just get the liner taken out and should fit fine

The spiders are only 7j and im assuming your running 205/40 tyres so the tyres will be sticking out + thata whats catching.

you will be fitting 195/40 tyres to 8j wheels so the tyres will be slightly stretched. This in itself will reduce the catching

and i didnt mean the candy red will look bad. I was gutted because my current wheels are candy red too lol

will post up some pictures later and well anyway am going to get all archliners removed and stuff and go from there am i right in thinking fabia front arches are already rolled or not

 

and to clear everything up i will be running on ET35 with 16mm adapters so will stick out 31.7mm from hub i think

ahh well i will changing mine soon and what candy red did you use i had to buy it of ebay the specialist paint and was 50quid a litre looks nice when its clean and shiny but trying to keep it that way is impossible !

Iv run et21 7.5j fronts with 195/40 and they were fine your guna be running et19 8j so with more stretch on your 195/40 tyres so the wheels will poke abit more (my 7.5s werent even flush) but the extra stretch will mean you will have extra room.

they arent rolled already but if you cut about an inch of the arch liner from the top half + remove the top screw + plastic bit it screws into you will catch less..

its worth doing before u get em rolled because they will be cutting that bit off anyway to roll them

I wana get my engine bay dun candy red.. but i know if i start doing it ill wana smooth the bay n it will end up off road for months n months ha
