+1 I get that most days, And have seen better on long motorway runs!. Do it!

Depends how you drive it and what your typical journeys are like. Mines averaging a long term 48 using actual brim to brim calculations

My computer typically says something like 50mpg on my to/from work journey however the real figure is about 44-45 mpg, the readout was more accurate before i fitted the tuning box however it was still a couple of mpg optomistic.

I have a 32 mile commute, mainly 50mph zones with many roundabouts, traffic lights etc...then a 5 mile motorway blast:-) . Previous cars MGZT diesel..Zafira Doesel...ran. At around average 40mpg ish...from fill up calculations.........

. Even if spirited away from lights I'm now getting 47mpg... And if sensible ish... I get 53mpg.very good for a poor route.

Very happy with the 170 DSG ...

i have a similar commute, and get an average of 47-48 depending on how the traffic is

i only use about of a qualter of a tank with the octavia estate 1.6 tdi thats how good is it.i can not fault it i do about 185 miles a week easy on qualter of a tank i do a lot of urban driving and once a week on motorway

but i just sold it 3 weeks ago. i now now wot you going to say now ive had a peugeot 598 sw estate

1.6 hdi. its got all the kit but as for the fuel it can't match the skoda. iam doing about 145 a qualter of a tank with the 508

as for the octavia the sales chap phoned me to say they had to put a new clutch new gear box new discs on the front

and brakes thank god i sold it. but it only done 33.ooo miles on a 11plate. but iam still looking at the skoda octavias

again they just look a bit bland inside but for fuel it was great. i think i will go back to the octavias again

as for the vrs wots the insurance like on them pete

My pd170 vrs is remapped to 210bhp and i get much better economy for it. My best mpg was a run from Telford to Southampton and managed 63mpg driving about 60 - 70 nearly all the way. Dont think I will top that again.

I am planning to get my pd170 remapped.  What's the performance like with the 210bhp compared to the stock 170?

What about the insurance increase (if any)?

The remap makes a huge improvement to performance mainly the torque figures and you can feel the difference massively. I never bother telling insurance for all they know the car could have been mapped by a previous owner and you are unaware.
