JackClap's Clio R27

Featured Replies

Have just picked this up as a replacement for my Fabia.

Was after something a little bit more special and a real drivers car, and this seemed to fit the bill.

Also really highely rated in most reviews which helped set my heart on it.

Spent a few weeks watching the classfields, with only 500 of them in the UK there is only a few for sale at a time which means limited pickings, most of which were either high mileage or modified.

This one came and was pretty much exactly what I was after, unfortunately an 8 hour round to trip pick it up though.

But she's now home :)

A quick picture from the phone on the journey back.

First impressions is that it is truly phenomenal. The chassis and handling is really an amazing piece of engineering. The amount of grip in the corners and the way it puts the power down is simply incredible. The engine too is rather sweet, always seems to have the power ready to be used and from 5000 rpm to 7500 rpm it simply flys. It also sounds rather nice too with a loud roar as it climbs the revs and pops and bangs on gear changes.

I was after that real fun/smile factor from a car and no matter how many times you drive its still as enjoyable. And so far so good

Not really got any plans for any modifications, but will be doing a number of things to tidy it up and try to make it one of the best examples of one of these out there.

Very nice Jack. Great choice

Looks brilliant. Look forward to your future progress. Your Fabia was stunning

Drove one or two of those when I was at CAT UK, had a bit of a hoon up and down the docks. Very tight chassis and pretty responsive. Nice when you're in a large storage area on flat tarmac with a sprinkling of frost too :p

I was expecting a comment more along the lines of oven gloves..

I imagine it's rather fun to be able to have a hoon around the docks

I nearly did mention them, but that's a totally different Clio.

Not worked there for a few years now, but when you're time pressured to get 400 cars parked, inspected, locking wheel bolts put on and all bolts torqued, de-waxed with hot water and chemicals, dried and taken in for pre dealership delivery inspection and parked a mile away, you tend to put your foot down now and again ;)

Nice car Mr Clap. Me likey :)

Engine badge was missing, but too not much bother I'll just order a new one I thought.

Enquire today, "Sorry you can't buy the badge on it's own, you have to buy the whole manifold." Brilliant.
