I am looking to change my Octavia's battery as it is getting a bit tired and isn't maintaining it's charge. It's as old as the car

 

I measured the battery size and it is the same as the petrol engine versions at 243mm long. My battery bay doesn't look like it will fit the recommended 278mm battery (or will it?). Also my battery is only 61Ah whereas new one are 70+Ah.

 

Even a number plate check on some battery sites come up with the 278mm battery.

 

Anyone here changed their battery recently - thanks?

Im not sure on the size of mine as ive came out to measure it and somehow lost my tape measure but the make is a exide excell EB712 71ah 670A. Ill give it a measure at work tomorrow ive got a tape there if noone can help you with the size. That battery is the biggest i can get into the battery box.

Google quotes this as the right size battery for my car. The Ah at 70is far in excess of my current battery's 61 but that can only be for the good.

 

Would you regard this as a  bargain.

 

(I biggered up the font size as I find it easier to read on my tablet.)

thats a not to bad price i think mine was around 60 aswell ive had the battery about a year now and never had any problem with it.
