Octavia VRS TFSI Poor Acceleration (Misfire)

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I am looking for some advise regarding this problem.

I was travelling home from work the other night and noticed that the car was hesitating on pickup through the gears (flat). its a 2010 with 68k. Once i got home i had a look under bonnet to see if anything was loose but notice engine sounds noisy tappety. Anyhow took it in to a specialist and they diagnosed multiple misfires on cylinders 2 & 3 and that knock sensor and crankshaft sensor were on the fault code list. They advised me to change coilpacks which they did and the other sensors were prob listed due to coil packs.

They cleared the faults and i took it home. Next day same issues again flat and fealing as it was misfiring. Took it back to them and faults misfiring cylinder 3 and knock sensor so they changed the plugs this time but still the same. Got to take it back on friday for them to carry out more checks and they said they would pressure test it.

My problem is i have had 4 new coil packs at 180 fitted and new plugs but still have same problems.

Any info or advise would be great

Hi mate, sorry for resurrecting your thread....my 2008 tfsi is suffering the excat same symptoms, I've not yet changed the coil packs (will be done this week) but am also experiencing a fault code with the knock sensor. Just wondered how you progressed with this and what you had done to fix the issue? Cheers Adam
