Skoda dealer pricing

Featured Replies

I have a CR engined VRS estate and the month after it was four years old and ironically had covered 40000 miles I received a letter from my main dealer informing me that recently Skoda have reassessed the cam belt interval and changed it to forty thousand miles or four years. I have just rung said dealers who want £279 for major service and £589 for cambelt and water pump. What are your opinions on these prices as I feel they are to put it mildly "excessive". Local Bosch VAG Indy wants around £500 all in.

£279 for a major service sounds a bit high and £589 for a cambelt and water pump is way over the top. Skoda national pricing is £449 at the moment for a cambelt and water pump change.
