Lightning MDI cable for use with iphone 5

Featured Replies

I bought one of these cables from VW (which work with Skoda aparently) the cable charges the iphone but doenst play music through it, the radio says the device is unrecognised or something along those lines. Skoda technician said it was a problem with the phone and it needed an update nothing to do with the car and the cable which I understand and agree with...

But any ideas how to sort the phone to work with the new style of cable? Settings or downloads ect?

My iphone5 works perfectly with the lightning MDI cable I sourced from VW with the Columbus in my Yeti.

Forgot to add mine is a 2011 (60 plate) fabia vrs

It's got a swing radio with an mid input below the glovebox

Not sure what's happening but it's annoying having to use my aux lead at the moment

Did you get that sorted? I'm getting a Fabia later and asking for that lightning cable too but only if will work with my iphone 5.

Cheers

Do we think it could be a copyright issue?

The digital connection on iphone 5's can recognise whether its an official apple cable or not, and if it isnt, it wont work properly.

Because apple are a bunch of ****
