CDL remote handset

Featured Replies

Just to let everyone know (if you don't know already), my father-in-law had problems starting his Octy 2 just when he needed to go to Heathrow for a flight. Eventually he tried the second, spare key and all was ok. On his return, he asked the dealer what might be up. It turns out that he had some work done to repair a maxidot display problem which required the disconnection of the battery. By doing this, they had to reprogram the key but as the dealer hadn't asked for both keys, only one got programmed. Moral of the story is, that always handover both keys just in case the dealer needs to disconnect the battery during warranty work or servicing.

or simply remember.... to reset keys... put them in the lock and open and close windows using the key then hold in locked position for 20secs to reset key.

Richard, I assume when you mean lock, you mean the door lock. If so, how can you operate windows with the key? Is there something I missed in the handbook?

Yeah... hold the key in the door in the open position and after a couple of seconds windows will open.

Same for close but in reverse (hold in locked)

is there any similar function with the remote control? My Megane will automatically close the driver's window when you double lock the car using the remote

really wish there was.. but no.

On all the recent VAG cars we've had keeping the lock button on the remote depressed closes all open windows. Maybe the reverse is true, but have never needed to open all windows when unlocking

guess they switched this off on the old "budget brand" :(

Quite agree!!!!!!!! Why would anyone do this??????

So does that mean the 'hold down lock button' to close all windows function works on the current Skoda range or not?

Agreed there is no benefit to opening all windows at once but I suppose it would let you cool the car down before you leave the house on a warm day, giving would be theives full opportunity to whip your cds.

If you hold the unlock button down after about 5 seconds all windows start to open, reverse is true if you hold lock down.

I was working on a site the other day and about 30 minutes before I was due to leave I leant out of the office window and opened the windows slightly by using this function, cooler car when I got in and the CC didn't need to work overtime.

must be an octavia 2 thing  !

It doesnt work on any of ours!

The coding that is required for the keys is not the same as coding the remote to open the car. I think by your description of the maxidot fault they have replaced the dash insert (clocks). This also houses the immobilizer control unit so all keys will need to be recoded to it using VAS 5051.

You have just managed in a few words to make my day. Cheers!

This facility was one of only 2 facilities I thought my new Octy 2 wouldn't have that my Megane 2 did. The other one is a button on the dash to turn on/off the rear door child-locks with an LED status indicator.

Can anyone confirm that there is an anti-hijack facility on the Octy2 which can be enabled via VAG-COM? This locks all doors once travelling above 7 mph.

Yes it can Johnny

Yes it can Johnny

Happy days! I'll be sending an email to the dealer before I pick up the car. I want:-

1) Anti-HiJack turned on

2) Unlock drivers door 1st then other doors function from remote turned on

3) Day time running of headlights on Light Assistant turned off

4) Rear wiper set for intermittent operation

Do you think there is anything I haven't covered under Vag Com convenience settings? I think i'll be able to set the 'coming home delay' for the lights via the maxi dot computer.

Found today that if you leave the windows open slightly, the alarm goes off! So unless anyone knows of a way round this it'll be a pretty useless feature.

Did you design the Octy II Lummox? How the hell do you know all of this?

I work on them all day long, 8.30 to 5.00.

I really hope you don't 'just' work on Octy II's all day long. I was led to believe that they one of the most reliable cars on the road. that's why I ordered one.

Do you know where I could get a pdf or scanned copy of a user instruction manual?

No I dont work 'just' on OctyII's but as they are the latest thing most of my training recently and learning has been on them and whats new, means I can work more effectively.

User Instruction manual? You mean a Owners handbook? Wheres yours?

I'm not trying to flatter you here but it must be a complete nightmare of a learning curve for you guys when Skoda bring out a new model!

My owner's handbook is in the car I haven't got yet. Just like to learn a bit more about it until I can ditch this Megane and pick up the new motor in October.
