Heko wind deflectors.

Featured Replies

Has anyone fitted them and can I get a touch of advice?

First try at fitting them and have 2 small issues.

1) the silver clips provided I fitted and noticed that you can still see approx 1-1.5mm of the bottom of the clip, but the clips don't seem to go up any further into the channel.

2) when first operating the windows started to go up then will go back down again. After a few tries they went up and stayed up but occasionally when closing the window they drop back down.

3) passenger side has now lost 1 touch open/close. Do they need reprogramming and how?

Thanks guys.

Having come from a vauxhall these cars are all new to me ????

I fitted them and found the same things, those clips don't seem a very good idea, they don't want to go right up into the channel.  The windows are coming down again as the electrics think there is something in the window glasses way,  the clips.!

I took the drivers side one off  as it was a tinted one and it cut down the area of vision ,

Yeah mine are tinted too. Not tried driving with them yet but had them on my astra so I'm used to them being there. Just annoying that you try and close the window and it shoots back down again.

Have you made sure the clips all the way up? I've always found they don't sit right at first. Get a screwdriver inside the clip and give it a few taps. You may find it sits into the channel better.

Cheers I shall try that.

I have the Heko deflectors and the clips should go all the way in and not interfere with the window closing. Also, to reset the windows back to one touch and set the limits of travel for the glass you press the window button fully down and hold it for, say, 10 seconds. Then send it back up and hold it again. It may bounce it back down in which case, repeat until it stays up.

I didn't bother with clips for the front and only used the clips for the rear

using a flat blade screw driver to push clips all the way up and then leave the windows to settle overnight seem to work fine for me

I bought Heko deflectors some years ago for a granada, I think I remember the instructions saying that on closing the window it would push the clips fully home into the channel.

Yeah I left them over night last night and today haven't had any issues as far as windows closing however you can still see about 1-1.5mm of the bottom of the clips so I may just take them out as it will bug me seeing them. Weather permitting I'm going to wash, clay, polish, wax, and get rid of a few light scratches on the car over the weekend as I've only had it a week and it's clean but not clean enough so I'll have another look at them then.

Have the Team Heko deflectors fitted to my current Octavia Combi and have also used them on my last five other cars (Audi A6, Audi Q7, VW Polo, Skoda Fabia and Kia Sportage) and no problems at all. Never used the clips on the front deflectors as they're never actually needed due to the natural locking that occurs from wedging them in between the A and B door pillars, and only ever used the clips on the rears. Tip is to always fit them on a sunny day when the windows and runners are dry as the deflectors are more 'pliable' in the heat (hotter the better) and the adhesive on the strips is at its tackiest. Just use a blunt screwdriver or similar object to push the clips firmly home, close the windows and leave overnight. You may when first closing the rear windows need to just pull the deflectors outward (from the middle) just to make sure the glass doesn't catch on the edges down the B and C door pillars and activate the anti-pinch and cause them to open back up... but hey presto works every time (for me)!

The Team Heko deflectors are by far the best by way of price, have the nice feature of the cut-away section to limit any obstruction and view of the front door mirrors, and are far more unobtrusive and sporty looking than the considerably more costly, 'commercial' and clunky looking Clim-Air versions also available.

Yeah I had them on my astra before but the clips were hidden. I'll just take the clips out on the weekend then job done lol.

Thanks for the advise though guys. Much appreciated.
