Scorpion Exhausts are looking for a MK3 vRS TSI..

Featured Replies

I have just received an email from Martin Lomas at Scorpion Exhausts.

Hi Andrew,

As discussed we’re looking for contacts with a MK3 Skoda Octavia vRS TSI. (hatch or estate)  that would be interested in loaning us their car for exhaust development

For the loan of the vehicle we would supply a cat back system free of charge and offer a good discount on a sports cat if required.

The car would be required for 2 weeks and we would do before and after dyno runs plus a youtube video.

The cars are kept indoors in our fully alarmed workshop and are covered under our insurance policy.

If required we do have a courtesy vehicle available.

many thanks

Martin,

Could any interested parties please email martin direct on:

Damn it! Don't they want a diesel!?

Email sent!

Id of jumped at this, going to pop in to cobra on monday andrew regarding mine. Depending how long they'd need it.

Great opportunity for someone with a petrol.

I could be interested too, if they have a courtesy car available. Not to worry if someone has already volunteered though.

Managed to get the car booked in with Scorpion for 9th June. Car will be with them for two weeks for fitting and tuning. Will post an update once the car is back.

banksie, just like your name sake, you're a Fn legend

Keep us updated.

Good work, I thought milltek would've had something released by now, I'd be first to buy a down pipe and full system. The Vrs tsi is lacking an exhaust note

No one ever wants a TDI :(

No one ever wants a TDI :(

They don't need to breathe as much as petrol, and amplication of a diesel exhaust note is not generally for audiophiles.

I would have volunteered my car to Milltek, but need it daily and no replacement was on offer, so missed out there. The Scorpion approach looked more attractive, I think.

Looking forward to seeing it all fabbed up! :)

I did contact milltek and they sent a few emails about using my car but never got back to me.

So, the car is back with a Cat back exhaust fitted. Firstly I have to say the guys at Scorpion were a pleasure to deal with, very professional.

I guess the main reason for me wanting to fit this was to make the car sound better and I have to say it it does meet that requirement. If your happy with the noise that the sound generator makes in sport mode,(without the rattle!), then this is what the exhaust sounds like from the outside, or at least that's the best way to describe it! A deep burble on tickover and not raspy on acceleration, although it can be made noiser with a non-resonated rear pipe.

I have tried to record the sound but its too poor quality to bother posting!

Attached are photos of the rear boxes and the dyno charts. Scorpion are waiting for the dyno people to send them a YouTube link of the dyno run, so this might give an indication of the sound.

Scorpion are just working out the costings for the system at the moment. If you need more info then the contact at Scorpion is Martin Lomas, Tel 01773744123.

It seems to give a little more power throughout the rev range but most of the extra power seems to be at 5000+ RPM, you planning to get it remapped at some point as well?

No plans for a re-map!

could this be fitted to a TDI eventually

im glad they've looked after you, our S3 saloon is supposed to be heading down there in a couple of weeks :)

Just had a look at their website. Am I correct in assuming this will be their first exhaust system designed for a Skoda as there doesn't appear to be a link for Skoda on their website?

From the website it looks like it. Although Martin did turn up out of hours when I dropped the car off in a Fabia vRS that I think had a different exhaust on.

Thanks very much for originally posting the request, it has been good to work with Scorpion, I'm sure the S3 will sound great!

Glad you are pleased with it, and nice that they left the stock tailpipe exits. When you can get a clip that you are happy with, I'd love to hear it. Looks like it frees up the top end a bit, which is useful. Did the system include a revised downpipe at all?
