does anyone know why then the engine is running I can smell oil I have no oil leaks and I cant see any split hoses so I don't know what it is

are you sure is oil smell and not exhaust gases?

Is it a burning oil smell?

Could be dripping onto the DP which would explain why you don't get a puddle forming!

Just an idea!

Mine does the same and as above it's dripping on the down pipe causing the burning smell. It's coming from the cam cover gasket and cam chain tensioner seals on mine which I'm doing soon.
