Parking sensors

Featured Replies

I have some questions about parking sensors.

1. Does it measure straight ahead or also up and down? In other words is it possilbe for an obstacle not to be detected depending on it size and position?

2. Distance is displayed in dashed so how many centimeters a single dash would have?

Red Zone appears  6" (OLD MONEY) from my partner front bumper, very consistent, Thank God :whew:

Rears only on mine but you get a few degrees of side angle on wrap around side warning.

I think it does see low objects. Certainly I've had warnings when reversing towards kerbs etc.

Yep. It beeps when I am near the neighbours shrubs which are only about nine inches high.

Each sensor emits in a conical shape, but as you get closer it is possible for small objects and metal pillars to disappear between them

It drives me crackers when I'm parking up at home, it picks up a neighbours hedge 3' away & the kerb and throws a complete benny!

And I'm not on about this one...

I have a wall under the car port in my garden, it isn't very high but the bumper would hit it, the reversing sensors don't pick this up.

Excuse the lunatic in the picture but that's the small wall behind the goal. Sensors don't pick it up but the car would definitely hit it if I went too far back.

Why don't you put a mark on the side of the  wall..!! Too tell you when to stop

I know where to stop. Was just answering the OP's question about the parking sensors

My car does not pick up low objects, e.g., curbs behind it.  Also useless when reversing into my brother's drive as there is only about 9" each side of the car so the reversing sensors 'go off' even if I am central in the opening.
