why do octavia vrs not like aftermarket maf sensors

Featured Replies

Is there any reason a vrs mk 1 octavia won't run properly on a eurocarparts maf?

I've bought a maf from euro car parts before and the car ran fine. Are you sure you don't have another issue?

Are you running an aftermarket panel filter and over oiling it or a filter cone?

Some are just crap. Aftermarket mostly. But do not assume that all genuine ones are perfect straight out of the box either...

It's one area where manufacturing quality control needs to step right up.

Prior to rebuilding my MK1 - I blew two MAF meters with a K & N filter fitted - I now run a piper cross panel filter and have had no issues whatsoever. Suspect (like I did) you've over oiled the filter. Hope this helps

Been using K&N filters for longer than i care to remember on numerous cars and not had to change a MAF even after cleaning and re oiling.

be careful with aftermarket BOSCH MAFs,my friend has a business in spare parts and told me that they are mostly counterfeited
