Re spraying bonnet

Featured Replies

Has anyone had there bonnet resprayed? Or know how much it would be?

I washed the motor earlier and noticed lots of chips in the paint, I've got a horrible feeling I've done this myself with the new jet washer :(

Would have thought a decent job is around £150 mark

Just had a look on google and looks like 200-300 quid!!

Might look out for a second hand bumper instead!

My bonnet and bumper were £200 each!

I need various panels resprayed but ive had panels of cars done in the past and they've never matched up quite right especially on black cars.

Specialist cars in Aberdeen quoted me £700 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eh let me think NO!!

I need bonnet, roof, boot & spoiler, arches and front wings. (All mainly little dinks) I'm thinking id be better just getting the whole car done at some point

Thats the point im at. My car came from west wales so was always stuck behind farming vechiles down some lane so my bonnet looks like its coverd in fag ash all the time. My roof is coverd in bird poop etchings and then theres the issue of the paint on the doors where i removed the rub strips haha.

I was originally getting just the front end done, but because the whole passenger side is being repaired/resprayed due to someone backing into it seemed like the right time to get the front end done aswell. I was quoted £300 just for bumper and bonnet, the bonnet is being taken back down to bare metal to get rid of the stonechips etc

I doubt it would be the jet washer mate unless you went very close and/or used a turbo/rotating type nozzle which could have made any existing chips slightly worse.

I've just taken my car into midland car care and Russ didn't think it was done by a jet washer,

I was careful with it,

Bit gutted as I was expecting my car to come back looking awesome, now it going to come back looking awesome with a load of stone chips on the bonnet lol

Lad round my way does full resprays for about 700/800 quid.

Possibly if the car has never been pressure washed before you could of lifted some paint off from stone chips that have always been there but I very much doubt it. I would say anywhere between 80-200 for a bonnet respray as there are so many companies out there now. My brothers place would charge about 120-150 for a bonnet depending in paint.

I had mine done about 2 months ago.

Before I went ahead I did get a number of quotes from a few body shops fairly local to me. Cheapest I was quoted was around £240, most expensive was over £350.

In the end I went with the guys at Reflex Auto Design in Brixworth, Northants. Paid slightly more than the cheapest quote I was given, but they were within walking distance from my workplace and standard of the work I've seen done by the RAD boys is outstanding!

I'm going to do some research on local companies, never had any paintwork done on a car before
