Apologies to NEO_VR and BriskMembers re:

I wouldnt worry, your post was the tip of the iceberg really, I think people in here just dont want the place to turn into cliosport or saxosportclub! :D

yeah i wouldnt worry too much. it wasnt just your thread, its been months of the same thing.

im sure everyone will respect your apology and enjoy the site

TBH you have only done what countless others have done themselves, I just think yours was the one that happened to be the one that made the moderators decision on all the BS that has been posted recently about I beat this and my car is faster than that, which in all honesty was becoming a bit boring.

So chin up, and hopefully you will continue worthwhile stories and information & hopefully everyone will now move onto proper things instead of the race theme.

No need to apologise... :)

As said above, it was one of many threads that were either closed or deleted.

I think theres a few issues that have been brought-to-light lately...

The main reason is the fact it was causing friction between members. and sometimes on the edge of briskodians being abusive to each other.

Ban all racing stories :);) :P :orb_angel

I think people should be aloud to say what they want on the site so how abouts we just set up a seperate section and Name it **** section or boring stories or something else like that

that way if you dont like them stories and can't be botherd reading them you can just not look at the section

Is it banned because Briskoda is having problems with storage space???

just me worrying more about the site getting to many rules

I think they should be ban in my opinion, it keeps this site head and shoulders above the rest with regard to content and helpfullness (if thats a word), and it is the most pleasant and friendly site ive ever been on... keep up the good work.

Alex

I agree in relation to another thread re a 'flaming thread'.Think it would be good.

As with any thread, far fetched or not ,you do find that they extract a flurry of information (useful and interesting and I am not being sarcastic) from people who know some of the other cars inside out.

e.g the octavia vRS might have a stock standard 180 bhp but as someone will quickly point out,if it was alongside a TVR Tuscan,400bhp it would quite easily rub my octys nose in it if it so wished :) Also a lambo gallardo will arrive at 100 mph in 9 seconds so I wouldn't try to show one what my wife's furby 'can do'.

What is nice is being able to mention how you quite easily pulled away from the jerk pinned to your chuff in the 318i and how my car did actually pull away quite easily from (real world) a Hyundai Coupe.

So,a seperate section maybe and people in their can marvel, toast anyone irresponsible or humiliate the downright fibbers :)

I think they should just be banned {the members not the stories LOL} too many people sayin gI beat this and I beat that who GAF? this is starting to stop being a community and more a competition.

I suppose I should do some work now ;-)

Its primarily because recent threads have degraded into personal abuse from people who dont belive it and have a hostile reaction... tell me how would it look to a newcomer whose just come across the site to see other members being called "lying pr1cks"? - not exactly a fair representation of Briskoda is it?

and its not a steadfast rule, just trying to diffuse the current situation.

there was a thread about 6 months ago.. "my skoda scalped a....." and that didnt degrade into namecalling... so whats changed?

what about 'on track' victories, i go as do some others to santa pod rwyb and if i beat a ferrari...id blooming well want everyone to know about it... !

i assume as its not on HM roads it woudl be a safe post??

Joel

On-track is cool I think ;)

If you are a freedom member Colin has started a thread in that area to try and get some input on this, hopefully we can help him + his team of moderators to find a good way of dealing with this kinda stuff :D

But the true realisation in all these 'I beat a XXX' threads is the other driver was probably NOT trying, lets face it even on the track would a Skoda really beat a supercar? {answers on a post card to I don't give a F**K, BS st, BS1 1AM SAD}

:)

Isn't this aimed the wrong way round? - meaning that the original post (unless itself abusive) can stand and it's the replies that should be Modded? IOW such bragging posts (whether genuine or otherwise) could receive replies seeking more detail, for example, but any subsequent post could be deleted at will in accordance with the TOC which already covers abusive language, whether directed towards a member or otherwise.

It doesn't seem to me that this would increase Modding assessment time, especially if people help by hitting the alert button, but would give the Mods a more carte blance power to enforce that the site proprietors will simply not put up with bad behaviour.

Just my 2 cents for a site which manages very well IMO to remain both an informative forum and a family forum as well.

Regards

Mo

members should also take into account that recent "bragging " has got other site members into hot water with the law.(woman taking points for a her partners offense)

RWYB is one thing, looning it up on a public road exceeding the speed limit is illegal, and big brother IS watching.

my near 200mph chase with a police helicopter is just urban legend :) (and totally untrue)
