Go gold like Pasty had? I always thought his car looked great.

Well, the long and short of things I bottled on the green idea. Mainly becuase the local place couldnt produce a decent candy green, well that my excuse lol. Maybe someone with abit more "scene" cred will have a go.

I decided to got for a bright silver / chrome in the end. Boring maybe but suits a black car and different from anthracite :D

Fair enough.  I know I'm not brave enough for candy wheels.  Get some pics up when they're done.

Mines being done next Tuesday at the wheel specialist, which is 2 mins from my work. Probably going to have the dark smoked chrome but will look at a pre painted wheel to see the finish being committing 100%. Got a good trade deal so pretty pleased.

The wheel specialist seem to get very good reviews but at a price. What sort of discount do you get bud ?

I have mine with city powder coaters at the moment. Cheap and chearful, its no show car afterall lol, and at £30 a wheel cant complain on the finish too much lol.

That's why I decided on them in the end, couldn't really find a bad word said about them. It's £200 all in and done in the same day. Includes acid dip, shot blasting full refurb, powder coating 2 layers then the dark mirror chrome. Then tyres fitted, balance and back on car. Which I thought was very good and nice turn around in the same day. I got a good price as I serviced there owners Toyota hilux for years! Lol

£30 a wheel is a bargain, what colour have you chosen? Must say mine is definitely not a show car but money is will start to be spend on body work once the wheels are done.

Do City Powder Coaters have a wide selection of colours available or are they just the basic silver, grey, black, etc??

I'm looking at dark red and purple at the moment

I know they charge extra for custom colours and some of there own special ones

Honestly cant remember what they called it lol, somthing like Multi Silver but may be way out with that

Did almost have the "chrome" look.

Im half thinking of getting my car plasti-dipped. Have been quoted under £500 for a full "dip". Even if it only lasts a year or two I wouldnt mind too much. Rated for 6 - 8 years though.

They have loads of colours mate. £20 for basic colours, £30 for a few more special ones and I presume slightly more for 1 offs. They have them on display in the reception.

They do candy colours but the green one I didnt like in the flesh. The colour paints seemed, to me a least, rather bright.

I did say when I booked in I will look at the wheels they have in the showroom and decide 100% on the chrome look when I've seen them in the flesh. I'm hoping they look good, as photos are decent of them.

That is very cheap for a full plasti dip, mine would benefit from a full blow over tbh. But need to start working harder to 've affording that! Lol

Dropping my wheels off with them later this week, will have a look and decide
