Capable 1800 - 2000kg tow vehicle

Featured Replies

Now i have finished my refurbing my car trailer and its road worthy again an hoping to do a few trackdays this year,

Only issue i have is that my vrs is off road at moment and am using my volvo xc90 as a daily driver and its killing me doing 24mpg driving like a saint,

I bought the xc90 sort of by accident as it was a non runner when i got it and i never intended to keep it this long but it is a really nice thing to drive its just to heavy on fuel,

If i sell xc90 then am looking to spend around 5k on something but i have no idea what,

Anybody any ideas??, doesn't have to be 4wd,

Older Disco?

Subaru forester 2.5xt ,2000kg in that form or 1800kg in 2.0 turbo form.

I used to pull my Brian James car transporter and car no problem but mpg is truly horrific.I see to get 10-12mpg pulling quickly and 22 when going solo if I was going easy running 330ish bhp.

Standard will tow about 18mpg if driven slow

D5 xc90?

Getting around 27 from mine in town and 37 ish on a run

I work for volvo so running one does have advantages, ive looked at xc70's and wouldnt mind one but they hold there money really well and i carnt get one with same age and milage as my xc90 for 5k.

Just wondered if anybody had any other suggestions

ah fair enough, just having a butchers around the net, couple of ideas, audi a6 allroad, Mondeo, Volvo v70? or strangely a Kia Sorento someone I know recommended it (could be wrong about it)

That's one of the reasons I bought a Yeti 170 CR.

Rated to pull 2000kg and tows really well.

I also think a Kia Sorento would do the job well, or it's Hyundai partner, the Santa Fe. Or as above, the Forester, but it won't have the economy.

It's a shame I don't think the Octavia 4x4 is rated for that much as you're local.
