Is it normal?

Featured Replies

Good evening everyone!

Right i was checking around the engine bay earlier today while the engine was running (vrs), and i noticed the idler pulley running from the drive belt wasn't staying steady Like it was jiggling?

Just wondering if this was normal or is it time to replace it?

Cheers :)

was your aircon\compressor turned on?

It may have been, i rarely ever turn the fans off.

Btw its not like an eratic jiggle, just a noticeable one.

if the aircon is on is normal to have a little movement on the tensioner, the compressor is turning and unlike the engine doesn't have a harmonic pulley

But if the aircon is off the tensioner must be stone-still

Okay thanks, will have a try tomorrow with it off and see what it's like :)
