Dealer prices for second hand Octavia III

Featured Replies

Hi

Currently the Octavia III hasn't made it into Parkers Guide so I jave no idea what a good deal on a second hand Octavia III is. Its 10 years since I bought a nearly new car and I have no feel for how far a dealer is likely to move on teh window price for a cash sale with no trade in.

Most of the Elegance 2.0 DSGs seem to be arround £18-20K and the manuals £17-18K.

The discount websites seem to be able to bring the new price of a 2.0 DSG down to nearly £20k so £19K second hand doesnt feel like a brilliant deal,

What sort of movement should I be looking at from a dealer on the ticket price ?

Thanks

The dealers can more or less dictate the price, since supply of new ones is limited then secondhand ones will hold their almost new values for sometime to come. There have been cases where a secondhand one costs more than a new one.

Thats's disapointing. Is it the same for FL Suberbs ? I am torn between one of those and an Octavia. More modern design versus more serene cruising.

This is my predicament at the moment. Got a mk2 and like the look of the mk3 but I'm not sure about its capabilities as a relaxed long distance drive hence considering the Superb.

I came to my shiney new VRS from a Superb the VRS is brilliant the only area it's let down is on the motorways and autobahns, the Superb was well Superb,I suppose you cannot have it all happy shopping.
