Cheers buddy. Fingets crossed it goes well this time. Im sure the autoglass fitter removed that trim when I had new windscreen in last year. I shall look into it

 

I think it depends on how good the windscreen was fitted. The side trim defo comes off the screen.

 

I'll not quote again, just so quickly :p  but... how much (edit -) heat can the vinyls take / need to get it nice and workable?

it can take quite a bit of heat but not too much on one place. It also depends on what heat source you use.

I used a paint stripper heat gun and did not leave it in one place too long. A hair dryer is second option as if  it is cold or windy will not really touch the wrap(unless you have a garage)

It is not really the cutting you need heat for but the heat allows a really good uniform stretch of the wrap over the rounded surfaces and curves. Unless it is a warm day you will struggle . The heat also makes it more tacky to the surface. Use hair dryer if that is all you have as it will do a better job than nothing.

And if your misses has got one of those big attachment things that spreads the air out use that as it gives a more uniform heating
