Headlight washers - how do they fix the issue?

Featured Replies

I'm having a paint work repair done on my vrs this coming Tuesday and I'm going to mention the headlight washers to them.

I've read it's a quick fix but I just wondered if anyone knows what they actually do to prevent them from protruding after use. I know not everyone has had this issue but I know a fair few have.

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I thought they just sanded them down a bit so they don't stick?

Or maybe it is some silicone spray grease?

But would the dealer admit they'd just used a bit of wet and dry?

All the dealer would admit with mine was they'd "recalibrated" them.

I don't know what-the-hell my dealer did when fixing mine, but it left a hair-line paint scratch under each washer cover, like someone had prized each one out with a screwdriver to get at the mechanism. Bodge-job or what?!

And you got them to respray it right?

Will see what they say on Tuesday for mine then

The problem is the paint layers inside the jet hole is to thick all you can really do is file Away the paint.
