LED NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS

Featured Replies

As the title says, is it possible to fit these? I've tried so called error free LED's but they threw up the error warning! It's a tight fit for resistors, so is there a way or a VW fitting (part number etc) that will work?

Cheers,

Rob

Interested in this also, although from what I've read you still need resistors

Nothing will work without either the bulb out warning showing, (bless you add resistors or additional bulbs hidden inside the tailgate)

Hey

So search my posts on LEDs. I have them in mine, with no errors or inline resistors. You can also disable the led error check with vcds for the rear plate bulbs

I have yet to code a Superb (or MKII Octavia) where disabling the bulb check makes a difference with LED number plate lights.

Care to share a link to what you have fitted.

I actually meant a link to the number plate bulbs, how old is your Superb?

I have coded several cars and the coding made no difference to the bulb out warning light.

Oh

As per the link, got the from em tuning, but I don't know the brand.

My superb is a 2012 combi pre fl.

In my car, it did clear the fault, but can't speak to it on any other car/case.

Interestingly I didn't get the error in any of my previouous Audi's or my old mk1 superb.

Hi!

I'm using standard LED's (no resistors) in my fl 2014 Combi with only the VCDS change and I get no errors...

Hi,

My first post here!

My Superb is also a 2012 combi pre fl.

I use these leds and I get no errors.

This is good to know that the coding works on the FL.

Welcome

Yes but they have resistors in the fly leads, so they would not show any errors.

2012 may indeed be the turning point where the coding works on some cars (on both of the 12 plate Superb’s I have coded it didn’t work)

i have genuine vw led number plate lights   -  1K8 943 021 C (vw part number)

and have these resistors fitted

i have a twindoor though not an estate so dont know where the resistors would sit beacuse they get really hot.

yeah

I just got two bulbs, popped them in and re-coded - no resistors/decoders at all. that said, there does seem to be a lot more demand in the last while for these so I would expect the tech to keep improving too
