Fabia's Headlights

Featured Replies

I had a Almera before my fabia and the headlights were so poor I didn't realise one of the headlights bulb had gone, when I did replace the bulb I couldn't tell the difference.

When I got the Fabia I was amazed how good the headlights are even on my 1.2 12v.

The standard Fabia bulbs are shocking, especially on dark country lanes in the winter! Get some Osram Silverstars and Philips Rallye main beams and you'll see a massive difference ;)

Chris

if you think they are good.... get philips blue vision plus....

I changed mine last week.... they give the impression of having xenon lights and my god are they good! Going down motorway at night... signs are been light up from a much greater distance.

Standard is on the left, oviously :D

no no no no! Philips Blue Vision Plus :D U know it makes sense!! Dont listen to the bad ford man!!! :P

The Silverstars have won test after test for light spread and beam distance. The Blue Visions won the 'blue tint' test, they performed really well and give a whiter look, but not quite the beam distance of the Silverstars. I used to use them before having Xenons...:)

shssh, dont encourage chris... we all know i brought the wrong bulbs... but doesnt mean i cant take others down with me :D

Replaced the Blue Visions on my Scooby with some Silverstars and actually noticed a difference! You pays your money and you takes your choices, etc, etc - both will be an improvement over standard ;)

Chris

They're not the 'wrong' bulbs by any means, as I say, I used to use them. I prefer the trade off with colour/appearance and beam distance to the Silverstars...:)

Each to their own...

Buy PIAA, Sorted

I agree about PIAA in some cases but I spent

Its the Extreme White plus that i have and id recommend them to anyone. No problems at all (touch wood :) )

They weren't the ones I had, I can't remember what they were called though...

You've obviously got one of their better ones:) , I was just so disappointed after spending all that money.:(

Osrams all the way (well after Xenons anyway :P )

Well I thought my fabia had good headlights.

What are these Osram Silverstars like, how much do their cost and how long do they last.

Just wanting the normal white bulb not blue.

Osrams from powerbulbs.com are around

Easy to fit because I no expert on these matters.

Is it H3 Highbeam.

For non-xenon Fabia headlamps they are ok to fit, but not very easy due to no space, especially on the offside by the battery. On the nearside it also depends on wether it is petrol or diesel as the diesel has bits located by the back of the lamp. If you have Xenon and want to upgrade the main beam, forget it as the headlamp has to come out, which means taking off the bumper.

Also dipped beam is H7 IIRC

The headlights I have now seem to be ok, I bought the car in May and it was 18 months old may be the lights are already fitted with more powerful headlights.

I will take a pic now of the lights and show you them tomorrow night.

How do put pics on here.

Can you change the side light bulbs easily on a Xenon equipped car?

They shine white and put it this way, in the 30k miles I owned my Fabia and the 40k miles I did in the Scooby with them in, I've never ever had to replace an Osram bulb ;)

Chris

Unfortunately I coudnt found the test that shows bulbs H7 and H3

However my choice is for Osram Cool Blue :D I've used the Cool Blue on my Furby near one year and I am really contented :D Also I have two years warranty lol

This reminds me to fit my 100watt Phillips rally bulbs sometime. :D

The upgrade is worth it. I was disappointed with the standard Fabia headlights after using Philips Vision Plus in my Bora. Ordered some Osram SilverStars (and some Philips SilverVision) within a couple of days and all is now good - whiter light and a good 15-20m longer throw on the beam.
