What handling mods have you done?

Before upping the power I'd look at a diff, so you can really make the most of the power it already has

Not much yet mate diff a good route to go down?

Yes. Especially if you want to make the most out of your power on some twisty roads.

What handling mods have you done then?

My friend Pete (group1rs) has a beautifully setup car and around brands hatch he was taking Porsches for fun :)

Hehe you rang ?

Do you have a front mount and a TIP? If yes, then there's not a lot left in that k03s and it's probably time for a k04 or a hybrid if you want more power, which means handling mods are a must first IMO

Next thing was intercooler and hard boost pipes, don't know if any you guys would know but my car has a slight flat spot around 3/4000rpm any ideas??

Who mapped it? With a stock side mount, TIP and that CDA, you don't have 237bhp, you have optimistic rollers. ~240bhp seems to be the top end of k03s power with all bolt ons. Sounds like you want a front mount, a decent TIP and a better induction kit as there's more to be had. You still want it to handle better too, and a diff would be ace as ASR is no replacement for an LSD

What's the best front mount and TIP to go for? A well known guy I have used a few times and he's spot on, what better induction kit would u recommend?

237 no front mount and standard tip

Urm someone told you porkies

I would say your still only stage 1 at 210 215 bhp

Next thing I would do is golf r32 farb and neuspeed 28mm rarb.

How much extra bhp would you expect to get from a stage 1 remap? And can you recommend any company's in and around bristol, thanks

About another 20 BHP from a stage one map. But it's not the BHP you will notice. It's the increased torque across the rev range. The transformation from standard is awesome. Coupled with a Neuspeed 28 mm RARB and Golf Mk 4 r32 FARB will see your VRS turned into a much more capable car. As long as all the rest of the mechanical vehicle components are sound. My advice do these mods then just fill with V power and enjoy. Or begin on the expensive slippery slope of taking things further. As for mappers near Bristol I can't help.

So worth spending the money on the stage one then? and excuse my ignorance but what are Neuspeed 28 mm RARB and Golf Mk 4 r32 FARB? Thanks for the info mate

Yes stage 1 best bang for bucks

I'm only in reading so can pop to see us for a map £299

So you would agree with group1rs regarding the amount of bhp and Torque I would get from the remap? And a silly question maybe does the mpg increase? Thanks mate

Ok sorry I should have explained. Standard Octy VRS's (as are most production Front wheel drive cars) are quite safe with a fair bit of understeer built in. This means that if you enter a corner and apply power the front will run wide(understeer) as opposed to the rear overtaking the front end ie spinning(oversteer). This is very safe but quite annoying if progress quickly around bends is what you require. The Octavia has as standard an anti roll bar at the front (FARB) and at the rear the bar is integral to the rear beam(FARB) the tried and tested method is to add a Neuspeed RARB (rear anti roll bar) in 28 mm diameter and combine this with fitment of a golf mk 4 R32 FARB(front anti roll bar). This will give a far more neutral handling chassis with increased turn in. And if required a little lift off oversteer. So in actual fact you can have better control of the chassis from the drivers seat. This is the best but most expensive set up. Alternatively you could choose to just add a 25 mm Whiteline RARB and leave the standard front alone.

Bristol your pretty much revo from streetwise

Or southwestincartech

You got badgerbill @badger5 if u sneak up a smidge

Other than that u start creeping toward clive n his shark gizmos

I got my stage 2 revo done by simon @ performance driven

But thats taunton tho

I have a r32 front

Eibach 25mm rear

Does fine ( unless you sabotage it with stupid wheels n tyres )

lloyd55vrs/ group1rs would you leave the wheels as standard as I was thinking of getting a set of 18s. For the car, any advise greatly received regarding the farbs and rarbs are these expensive mods ? Cheers

Edited by Jimmer2908

R32 farb are 98 new from tps or 116 from vw

Awesome gti do them with all new fitting for 160 ish

Neuspeed 28mm rear is 275 iirc

Eibach 25mm rear is about 220

Whiteline rear is 160 ish ( forgot width )

Wheels :D you dnt wana ask me if u should leave them be lol

My names lloyd and i have a wheel problem

18s work well tho bud, if u get a 8x18 et35 it can wear a 225/40/18

Of which a huge range of tyres

They fit nice in the arch

And dont have to be tooooo low

Bwaaaaah did i just say that :D

Neuspeed rarb about £270 and front golf mk4 23mm bar can be bought new from VW for reasonable prices (well last time I had one... a while ago), don't forget to get front bushes too.

What about the r32 rear arb? is there such a beast. is that why you opt for uprated on the rear. Will this setup work on the estate 4x4?
