Removing/replacing AUQ 1.8T engine

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I did a number of checks on my current engine (an oil pressure issue that I asked about last month) and basically its a little buggered sadly! :'(

Anyway as I don't have the facility to perform a full engine strip and rebuild I have decided to replace the engine (garage rates for such a job would be terrifyingly expensive!!). I have searched the forum and found some advice, but basically I was hoping people can give me some general warnings/tips to avoid massive ****-ups!!

For information, I intend to lift it out with a hoist. I have read elsewhere that its apparently easier to drop it out the bottom but I don't have a pit to work from, or a high enough workstand!

Also if anyone is selling their AUQ 1.8T engine, or know of anyone who is do please PM me.

Thanks in advance!

Check in the parts for sale section there's always someone breaking a octy.

Ill have a AUQ Recon engine 124k miles. Head & Block only though.. should have it ready to be shipped in a week.

wanting £150

It's not too much more work to pull the front panel/rad/headlights to get unprecedented access to just yank it out from the front. I've lost count of the number of old Fords I've had to just about drop to the floor as my hoists never went high enough to get them out the top.
