Power Steering

Featured Replies

I'm sorry to post about this as I know there is a lot of stuff that has gone before but...

I took my 03 Fabia to the garage to have the Steering Angle Sensor replaced, hoping to fix my flickering headlamps etc.   They checked the ECU prior to replacement and, sure enough, it was reporting an intermittent connection.  They have now fitted a new sensor but the ECU is now saying there is a permanent connection failure and the dashboard PAS light is permanently on. Prior to this the dashboard PAS light was not on at all.  Oh yes... and the power steering is working

So the question is - why wont the ECU in the PAS pump recognise the new sensor and how come the PAS is working anyway?

Was the new sensor actually new, genuine and ordered by VIN via a franchise dealer?

Yes, apart from the franchise dealer bit - including the rebate on the old one
