which standard intercoolers fit the ASV engine?

Featured Replies

Ok so recon turbo ordered, I'm hunting a new feedpipe, and nipping into Skoda dealer tomorrow to order a new oil feed pipe.

Garage said they would clean the intake pipework but are now saying I need to locate a replacement intercooler. They say they aren't happy flushing and cleaning the intercooler because of the time it takes, the risk of impeller debris getting into the engine and the risk of a run on and engine death because it is impossible to clean properly.

So now I need to locate a used intercooler in the hope that it isn't worse than the one already on there because I need the car on the road by the weekend.

So if anyone can confirm which part numbers are a direct replacement I would be eternally grateful as buying a new one is way out of budget.

Cheers guys.

Cheers Paul will look it up. It gets bloody confusing. Back when I had the Estelle and Favorit I always had an ETKA on the laptop and then when I got the old petrol Octavia I added an early copy of VAGCOM. That laptop expired a long time ago and haven't got round to adding them back yet.

I guess it is the spring clip fitting I will be wanting not the push fit hose type?

Am I right in thinking they used the same IC on petrol and diesel vehicles?

Just noticed your signiture states you have a 2.0, as far as I 'm aware VAG didn't do a 2.0 turbo Octavia in 2000?  2.0 ltr was non turbo!

Bloody hell. You know what, I'm usually on the mobile site these days and sigs don't show.

I need to update that. That was my old 2.0 petrol Octavia.
