Rear Disc Brake Conversion?

Featured Replies

Looking to convert my rear drum brakes to disc brakes.

Any ideas on what i would need to do so?

And how much work it would take to do?

Guessing rear axle conversion.

Guessing rear axle conversion.

I seem to recall you need to swap the whole rear beam over.

So its a very time consuming job.

heard of anyone that has done one before?

Theres a guy on here from ireland whos done it.

Dont think it would take that long. Just find a car being broke. Get the rear beam amd fit it. Not sure if u will need the suspension too? Should be just a few bolts. Dont quote me on that tho.

Here in Colombia we have Octavias with rear disc's but we can do the swap using the whole bridge of Jetta MK4 GLi that have biggest and ventilated discs.

When you say bridge? Do you mean the rear end?

So best car to use the rear axel from is a mk4 jetta? All the fitments are like for like? It should go straight in. Would I need to extend any brake lines or abs cables?
