New Accelerator Pedal needed :(

Featured Replies

A quick search brought this previous thread up (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/151742-sticking-accelerator-pedal/) which mention a possible TPI from Skoda themselves regarding this matter.

Having been told that I need a new accelerator pedal on my 2010 Fabia Sport 1.9tdi because of the very same intermittent idle tickover issue - and not being prepared to pay the £200 quoted by the main dealer for supply & fitting ... I'm going to discuss this issue with them in the next week or so, but obviously forewarned is forearmed :). So any info, success stories etc would be most welcome ! A TPI number would be great ;)

Thanks

Mark

Just talk to skoda UK customer services and see if there was am issue and a the replacement should be done at skodas expense. It is them paying a dealer to do it. Nothing out of the dealers pocket only income and work.

Common fault - just had it done on my vrs!

What are the symptoms like for this problem?

Intermittent tickover @ idle. Should be something like 850 r/pm but if you have potentially faulty pedal then the r/pm will increase @ idle to anything higher - mine goes as high as 1500 r/pm but guess it can go higher.

If you have an affected (faulty) pedal and have high idle tickover then try lifting the pedal (foot underneath it), if it drops the tickover back to 850 r/pm then you need a new pedal :(

Hope this helps
