Pleased to get back in the Octy

Featured Replies

I have to admit there are some minor things about the Octy that annoy me - the start./stop, the noise generator and a few other tiny irritations....however.......

.... This morning I had to take SWMBO's Polo (2011, 1.2) to be serviced (at the Skoda dealer - the only local VAG dealer I trust) and I have to say, it was horrid.  Worse still they loaned me a demo Roomster.  Not a bad car (although pig ugly IMO), but so old fashioned interior-wise and just not pleasant to drive.

When I got home I had to take the Octy for a spin and it was just in a different league.

Thank you Mr Skoda. I am so pleased I bought one of your 'grown up' cars (even if the owner has no intentions of growing up himself)

Mine was in for it's first service today so I had a bog standard Citigo courtesy car, wind up windows, no AC and apparently no sound deadening either..... My god it was horrific.  Felt great to be back in mine. :)

I love the start/stop

And the noise generator.. !! don't hear it with the music on ..

I did manage too red line it this afternoon in 1st gear, Pulling out on to a main road... :wonder:

I got a low spec Fabia curtosey car and it really felt cheap. The 1.2 diesel was very slow and noisy too. I'm pleased they did a more expensive job of the Octavia, well, the top half of the interior anyway. The lower plastics and boot are still a bit too cheap for my liking

When my friends company car arrived (63 plate Audi A4 Avant SE Technik) I had a good nosey all over it, and I've got to say the Octavia has a much nicer interior, is significantly larger, has more toys, cost £5K less (even with all the toys on I specified) and I'm so glad I'm not a badge snob (was considering the A4 but wanted the newer 150TDI engine) as the Octavia is a better car.

one of the main reasons I chose my Octy... I just felt at home... you know that feeling when you just say... "yes, this is it"

and it's my first Škoda, too.

I had no doubts and I still feel I made the right choice
