New car ordered

Featured Replies

After months of 'umming and 'arring I've finally put an order in for my next car.  I've been very concious of the amount of money I have been losing to the tax man through company car tax given that my current vRS DSG diesel is hardly a co2 lightweight.

So, with a heavy heart I starting looking towards a 99 co2 1.6 Elegance Octavia which whilst meaning I would lose a bit of power I would gain in my pocket with a lighter tax code.  I spent ages trying to spec the right Elegance with some dead cert options and things I could do without.  I'm also closer to a deal for a Lotus Exige S ready for the summer months so at least I would have something in the garage with a bit of spark.

So today, after months of messing around trying to settle on the greenest Octavia as a work horse and also something a bit more suitable to family life until the Lotus turns up I ordered my next car........

Haha at least its the diesel!

The emissions are far lower on the mk3, so you'll still be better off.

Very very jealous mate, that looks the dogs! Wish the 19's were within my budget! Going through the same dilemma myself but it's hard to leave the vRS club. Hopefully see you around when you take delivery.

Hmmm... vRS TDI Estate, you want a friendly five side bet you'll still be driving the Lotus come the end of October

Serious car for the seriously patient of us, whats the waiting list now 26 weeks or is it still climbing ?

Good luck, I'm sure you'll love it.

Great choice, great colour, UTM!

Waiting list on the vRS TDi is currently 7mths (dont believe salemen ;) ) - However, it will be worth the wait :)

"Well it's an estate.  That's more practical isnt it?" - EXACTLY what I said
