turbo issues

Featured Replies

having a slight problem with the turbo, car runs ok most of the time but some times when the engine is hot it feels like the turbo kicks then for a split second it goes off then back on, causes a slight jerking motion. doesn't do it all the time, had a quick look around pipes and hoses but cant see anything that stands out.. any help would be great

could be a breather nackered under the inlet mani..

mines did that last time i took it out my breather was ragged only just after i fixed the upper breather lol

have just changed the y breather due to it splitting, got the car in getting a new oil pick up pipe and service at moment and asked if they could have a look at the hoses and pipes to see if there are any issues. hoping it is something simple like a leak somewhere.....

DV seal failing can give the same symptoms as you describe.

ok just got the car back and I have 2 split hoses, so can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram of the hoses along with the part numbers so he can point out the ones I need to order

I wonder if my DV could be the cause of the strange intermittent fault I have - very occasionally at WOT it will start to go, cut power then take off like a rocket. It happened consistently on track coming out of a 90 degree right hander onto the straight.

I have a 9 year-old Bailey DV30 which I have never serviced or anything :)

Rob sounds like fuel issue ??

But yes your due a DV check lol

Guess it could be, I thought it was cured once the Walbro was in and running.

The walbro isn't the best as it can cause more starvation due to its fitment

You should replace it with a sytec one direct replacement and still used the oem surge tank

£55 delivered and better than walbro

Will find link to website dude

I would appreciate a link Clive as I don't know if the LCR pump is enough going by what I've heard... although I was given before, the impression a 4 bar pump would be fine

check the S pipe that goes down from the Y down under the breather because it can split also being under the manifold you wont notice.. was changing mine with a Creation motorsport silicone and my original was completly ragged and the smaller pipe that goes onto the bottom of the manifold had been chopped, a connecter added on and a different size pipe to the manifold from halfway.

Complete Bodge :wonder:

I just replaced the S pipe from the Y pipe the other day, it cost 15.99 on Ebay.

here's the link for the S pipe (no.2)

not too sure about the other two you need replacing, i never checked mine! Also you could do with a 1inch jubilee clip for the clamping it onto the T-pipe under the inlet manifold, as on mine, it was a crimped clip, which obviously once you take off, you need to replace!

hope that helps!

managed to order all the parts I needed from creations motorsport arrived this morning and I thought woohoo get them on today, til I open delivery to find out they sent me a wrong pipe :wall: but after a quick call it should be here tomorrow...

ive sorted my breathers but still sometimes will boost mint and throw you back in the seat sometimes it will jump on and off of boost towards top end.. might just be my dump valve as I took my forge off and put a standard one on because someone was ment to come up and buy it but I was let down so might be that.. going to clean my throttle body and a few other little bits just to make sure everythings sweet..
