What to look for in Superb estate

Featured Replies

Any car with an electric heated windscreen would most likely need an uprated alternator as well. This would detract from any green credentials.

May as well do away with the rear one too then....ant the radio/sat nav.

I think a heated windscreen draws a serious amount of current, quite a bit more than a rear screen does. Plus, the front screen has a demister function as standard, so a heated front screen can be classed as an expendable luxury in the context of an Eco model.

The great thing about the heated screen is that you can drive off very quickly after starting the car. It is unusual for it to be needed after the engine has reached operating temperature. I can't speak for the time taken to reach operating temperature for diesel Superbs (mine is petrol and quick), but on my previous diesel MPV, the heated screen was a godsend as the engine took ages to warm up when the weather was cold. I am glad that I specified the heated screen even though the petrol engine warms quickly.

Takes my 140 tdi 4-5 miles of 30mph to hit full temp I start the car, swicth on the heated screen and the frost/ice has softened enough to be cleared by the wipers by the time I've strapped in 2 kids.....

now if only they could put elements in the door windows too.

The twin door boot to be retained and fewer blank buttons on top models

And no diamond cut alloys. Mdi as standard. More easily updatable sat nav unit (firmware as opposed to software i know maps are easy) badges that dont tarnish and lower tax bands for equivalent performance

Obviously both those posts were for the wishlist thread rather than here no idea how that happened....
