2nd Skoda - a good deal apart

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just got the Skoda Rapid Greentech 1.6TDI Elegance (petrol blue). Used with 14,000 miles on the clock.  Live in Glasgow and average about 14.000 miles PA.  Commute to work so opted for the diesel after the VW Jetta 1.4 petrol.

Mileage is much improved after the switch to the diesel and that is very pleasing as the VW was not very economic, mileage wise.

Couple of points after only having the car just over a week:  Had to replace the tyres and switch to something with a lot more depth.  The car felt every bump in the road.  Lot better now.  It be ok but in the UK as you know we have the worse kept roads in Europe - excluding Yugoslavia I think.  Have the water in the doors problem.  Car booked in but a bit annoyed Arnold Clark did not spot and repair/fix this problem before I bought it, as it appears to be very common.

Car is nice to drive with a ton of room so look forward to a few years of happy motoring once these minor teething problems are sorted.

Hopefully I can add to some of the discussions and keep up to date with all the happenings in Skoda World.

Cheers,

George
