found route cause of my abs failure..

Featured Replies

Described on diagnostic as "abs hydraulic pump circuit failure" or words to that effect...

After a bit of hunting around I find one of the 30amp fuses on the fuse box mounted on battery has melted in its holder and no longer making contact.

Upon finding this, I did search online and found this is common..?...

Fuse in question is s180 I think if I remember right...

So hopefully, when new fuse box arrives problem solved. For now anyway I've removed the fuse as if it's making a dodgey connection I'd rather it not be there until I fix properly..

In your experience, can this type of problem trigger a limp mode because ecu is not knowing what's going on traction wise?? Just a stab in the dark with that one but worth asking in case anyone else has similar symptoms ect

Cheers

I cant answer your main question, but in the 2 yrs ive been around here, theres been quite a few melted fuse box threads... seems theres a not great connecton on a black wire, which burns out and takes everything else with it... it may well be able to trigger a limp mode from abs problems, but equally the melty fuses / connection could be making their own lomp mode

Yeah I've checked the black wire and it seems fine..

I'm glad  It's not the hydraulic pump itself because that would be a big fat ache in the ****** to be honest.. would prob be the final nail.. or match in this case! Lol
