Yeah at 3.38am my mobile rings and it's the delivery lady who's outside with the keys to my new white VRS Estate. So after sticking on a T-shirt and shorts down I go to give the car a look round and sign the paperwork and off she pops up to Elgin to collect another car.

Of course I had to take the car a wee drive but only managed round the block and back before coming and going to bed (after posting this of course)

First impressions - bloody marvellous

The cabin looks much more refined than my old 2010 FL VRS.

Have a quick play with the steering wheel buttons and see I've got lane assist?

I'd have had touble sleeping after that. I'd have had to go for a good long drive while the roads were quiet

That's the weirdest time/way of delivering a car I've ever heard of... Other than that, enjoy your new play-mobile.

With a delivery time like that you must live well away from civilisation. But I bet the roads are good.

I'm 10 miles Glasgow so not out in the sticks.

As the car was delivered to me on the back of a flat bed transporter and had 5 miles on the clock I wasn't too worried about the condition of the car. But I did go round it carefully with my head torch before signing the paperwork.

I'm leasing the car, if I'd been buying it I probably wouldn't have accepted delivered as I didn't last night but as it is the car is only mines for 2 years as per the lease term.

I'm keen to get out have a play with all the buttons and find out all the features I didn't know about as I ordered it from the broker I leased my previous 2010 VRS from as it was a great deal (£240 per month) so when he called me and told me I just said 'yes!'

The only extra I ordered was a spare wheel after my 2010 VRS didn't come with one and I didn't know at the time. So it was a nice surprise to see it has xenon headlights!

The guy from company delivering the car called me yesterday day afternoon to say they'd be leaving Oxford at 11pm with my car on the back on a flat bed truck so would be at mines around 3.30-4am and asked if they could put it in the drive way then they'd head up north to Elgin (10 hour round trip from my house) to pick up another car and they'd stop off on the way back from Elgin to sign the paperwork and do the hand over.

Since the car wasn't bring driven up like my 2010 VRS was when it was delivered I just said to the guy to ring my mobile when they were outside and if it was switched on I'd come out and get the keys there and then which the guy was delighted with as it meant he could head straight home to oxford from Elgin with having to stop off and say him having to sleep somewhere on route home.
