or you smell of cleaners, sealant's and waxes    :think:

aftershave is mainly made up of alcohol so use it to clean/ degrease AND have an engine bay that smells of Old Spice - the mark of a man :p

But then what will I use my 250ml bottle of Swissvax Engine Bay Deodorising Mist Spray for?

Has anyone used Ultimate or Tech Wax?

These two are the liquid waxes in bottle not the tins of paste wax, so an option to pop on a finishing pad with the DA, disappointing to hear that Tech is dusty though, always turns me off a product, like the old formula AG SRP which isn't a patch on new formula.

Still, three new pieces of kit, never tried before, happy days, also noticed that it's now light enough I can get my son settled in his cot and still have an hours daylight to go out and wash the car.

It's the thought that counts and he obviously knows you have a problem Sparkly ;)

Haha he knows you well Mark.

I've used both the Tech Wax and Ultimate Liquid and like them both.  The Ultimate liquid is, in my humble opinion, excellent, as it is easy to use, doesn't mark black trim and can be used in direct sunlight.  I posted pictures of my car after a quick detailing session late last year;

I don't find Tech Wax to be particularly dusty, certainly nothing like the old AG SRP, but have found that it is beneficial to apply two coats, one over the other and about an hour apart, for an excellent shine.  I have some photos on my phone of my son's girlfriend's car that I detailed last year, but need to download them at home before I can upload to the Forum.

I am certain that others will disagree, but I have tried quite a few products over the years, but these are two that I still use regularly.

Sorry it's late but happy birthday mate.

So photos now downloaded.   The car is a 2008 Ford Fiesta with 40+ K miles.  I went over the car using Sonus yellow and white pads on my Megs G220v2 DA polisher and Megs Ultimate Compound to get rid of the myriad of swirls and scratches, followed by two coats of Megs Tech Wax, the second coat applied over the first about an hour apart.  It was then left for a further hour before buffing off.

I was really happy with the result, although achieving this finish did me no favours as I now seem to have acquired another car to keep clean.

Looks good

Indeed it does look good.

Absolutely no snobbery on my part at all about getting Meguiars products for my birthday, I was really stoked and will be looking forward to trying them :rock:  .  The Halfords 3 for 2 comment was only because he'd been quite so generous (and bought two waxes :wonder: )

Clay kit is perfectly timed as I just ran out of Bilt Hamber, so this will tide me over nicely, and all of the Meg's QD's I have tried have been brilliant and good for a multitude of jobs.

What do you mean did you no favours? It's something to test on isn't it? I wish I had a scrap car to test on before taking it over to the VAG cars.  :giggle:

I usually practice on other peoples cars...like a VW R36 and the odd Yeti or two   :peek: ;)
