What is the best polish to use and where can i get touch up paint?

Featured Replies

Not true at all. I removed scratches along the top of my rear bumper by hand.

It would all depend on the defect.

I agree.

Would rather keep the scratch on my car than go at it with T Cut...

A frightening introduction to the fetishism of automotive detailing.

I use a blend of Yak semen and Badgers sputum and control the 'burn' with Crocodile tears.

All joking aside I actually do need to 'mop' a car I recently acquired, it's a solid dark blue Golf estate in dire need of cutting and polishing, can anyone recommend a decent machine which I can buy which will actually last some years without breaking down or breaking the bank?

I find the one bucket method great for moping.......

Meguires G220 £159 (dual action)

Or if its for one car do as i did and just get a variable speed rotary polisher / grinder with M14 thread.

I paid £70 for a clarke one from Machine Mart. Does the job for what i need

As above, if you are looking into a Duel action polisher look at the G220 or a DAS 6 pro (currently using)

Contact autobrite direct. Based in stoke on trent, great range of products. Got a full DA kit off them, 3 pads, backing plate and three levels of polish for like £140 i think it was. I swear by their stuff now

DAS6 Pro here too

Forget to mention. Mine is a DAS6 Pro too

G220 V2

V2 has a longer cable so it's easier to use and easily replaceable brushes for the motor!

I got mine as a kit on eBay for £175 with 3 pads and some meguiars diamond cut compound! ;-)
