SE sports seats

Featured Replies

I do not like the non Outdoor SE swirly seat trim. I like the [harder wearing?]  black and silver upholstery available as an extra, but it only comes with sports seats, and I have ordered this set-up blind. Pictures on on-line cofigurator are of little help.

Skoda UK advised sitting in a set, but cannot tell me of any dealers with them fitted. They have told me the bolsters are slightly higher and the seats firmer. Good news for my back, and as I am NOT on the large side I should be able to fit.

Does anybody have this set-up?

I had the sports seats in my Yeti.

Very supportive, and the seat base bolsters are a bit higher. Can't say whether they are firmer than the standard ones (imagine they would be), as never sat in a standard seat. All I can say is, that on a 200 mile run they performed brilliant.

I agree with you regarding swirly seat design on any car - plain is best IMO. Shame you can't order the sport seats in Alcantara though.

Good choice

Skoda UK have tried to find me a dealer with a model fitted with sports seats. They have not suceeded, but on checking the Yetis for sale through "Find a perfect used Skoda" I spotted a white one for sale at Capitol in Newport. A very kind salesman, Leuan Wall, has taken photos of the seat for me. I can confirm it is as the photo in the link above, and they do look very nice. If/when I can figure out how to post the images I will do so.

The Urban ltd edition has them fitted as standard (& maybe the Adventure)if you can locate one locally for a look.

The seats in Johann's pics. are identical to mine apart from the colour; mine are black & red.

They are very firm, the side bolsters are quite deep, about 75-80mm

The width of the flat seat base between the bottom of the bolsters is 330mm, and 450mm long front to back.

The seat base is angled @ 17 degrees front to back.

When I bought the Yeti the seats were great, very supportive; unfortunately, I've recently developed sciatica in my right leg

and the seat is now uncomfortable due to the steep angle & the bolsters.

The ideal solution for me, would be to reduce the 17 degree angle considerably i.e electric drivers seat adjustment, but Skoda

didn't do this option on the Urban.

I've solved this by using a 'Putnam' 8 degree seat wedge which fits perfectly between the side bolsters, hopefully just

a temporary fix till the sciatica is sorted.

Thanks for the input.

Firm is good, side bolsters are only 10mm or so higher than present Touran seats, and width is similar. I am surprised though by the depth. My Touran and sports seats in friends Golf are in the 480/500 range. 450 does seem very shallow.

Colin

the 450mm length is of the 'flat' bit of the seat base.

The angled side bolster curves around the back, like a letter 'C', making the overall length to the seat back 500mm

Sorry for the confusion! Look at Johann's pics link to see the effect.

BTW, I'm 6' tall and use the seat @ the lowest position; as you raise the seat, the base angle reduces slightly.

You also get manual lumber adjusters on both front seat backs.

Thank you again.

It appears the sizes are commoin across the VW group range. As I'm short, 5' 8* I;m guesssing the 17 degrees angle will reduce nicely as I have to raise the seat.

The lumbar support sounds good, as this was not available on the cofigurator I thought it was not posssible. They may include it as standard.
