Slower since clutch change

Featured Replies

Had a new clutch fitted this weekend. Sachs clutch OEM. While driving it home it seems slower like the remap had disapearred since this battery disconnect. Im sure this isnt the case and i didnt rag the car hard at all but i could tell a difference.

Like a lack of boost.

Any ideas why it could feel this way?

The ecu shouldn't have reverted to a standard map, might just be a case of the new clutch bedding in for the first 500 miles or so

Thought so... hence why i didnt give it any abuse. Cheers

Your map can't just disappear like that, it'll feel a bit different as the bite point will have changed and it'll need to bed in.

just give it some beanz mate, that will bed da clutch in

Have you changed the flywheel at all? A heavier flywheel would cause the car to accelerate slower.

Wouldn't suggest this as best practice on a new clutch!!

Are you a smooth driver on gear changes or just flick up the clutch woth loads of power causing a lurch on gear changes?

A new flywheel will be smoother than a knackered one on take up of drive. So gove the illusion of less power as it will be absorbing power smoother

Shouldnt really need to bed in a clutch as such

Wouldn't suggest this as best practice on a new clutch!!

I was joking mate! Give it 500 steady miles then there'll be nothing to worry about, it will be warrantied!
