VCDS options for fabia mk2

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am wanting to do a few things with VCDS, but is there anything useful I am missing?

- enable anti hi jack

- beep on locking

- one press lock

- needle sweep (can this be done)

Am I missing anything, and are all these available on a fabia mk2 se

Cheers

- enable anti hi jack - YES
- beep on locking - YES but I'm not sure it's strictly legal in the UK.
- one press lock - YES
- needle sweep (can this be done) - I don't think its an option on non-VRS instrument clusters and yours is non-Maxidot so is even less likely to be possible.

cheers dude! ill look into the beep on locking, never even thought that would be an issue1

Is there anything else what could be done?

How so? The FL Octy I had a while ago beeped on lock and unlock.

It is illegal in the UK. The Construction and Use regulations for motor vehicles stipulates:-

Use of audible warning instruments

99.  (1)  Subject to the following paragraphs, no person shall sound, or cause or permit to be sounded, any horn, gong, bell or siren fitted to or carried on a vehicle which is—

a. stationary on a road, at any time, other than at times of danger due to another moving vehicle on or near the road; or

b. in motion on a restricted road, between 23.30 hours and 07.00 hours in the following morning.

When I say beep to unlock, I mean like the electronic beep not the horn.

That would just about bugger every single car alarm installed then.

I guess it would depend how 'audible warning' is interpreted.

Other things that might be possible:

Tear-drop wipe

Comfort windows on remote. (Wind them down using the remote which is nice as you walk to the car on a hot day.

Change the steering weight.

+ others that I've no doubt forgotten about.

I have the remote windows! Love that!!!!

What is teardrop wipe?

A secondary wipe after you use screenwash to get that annoying last drop off

After you wash the windscreen it does the four wipes, then waits about 10 seconds then does one more wipe which removes the teardrop that always is running down the screen.

I guess it would depend how 'audible warning' is interpreted.

Exactly. Having said that I have never owned a car with an alarm that makes a bleep of chirp when you lock/unlock it (I see it in films a lot though!). So I suppose most car manufacturers err on the side of caution with that law, and don't bother with any form of audible bleep when locking/unlocking on UK models.

Is your Fabia II facelifted? Because I was not able to enable remote windows on pre-FL.

Yeah it's face lifted. I had all the things done I wanted except the needle sweep, as it's not available

  • 1 month later...

Did you try to activate cornering lights or was this standard on your Fabia?

Tbh I don't know what they are

One of those non-essential but fun feature ones!

Well this one can be quite usefull.

I've just ordered a fabia vrs, how would I get the windows by remote programmed in and can it be done with the sunroof too? I'm in hertfordshire if that makes a difference to who can sort it?
