Washer pipe connector

Featured Replies

The rear wash jet recently stopped working and today I took some time and found the problem to be the connector at the bulk head.

I've tried to push it back together and the pipe is in but fluid is still coming out when using the rear washer.

Am I doing it wrong? Or is the connector broke? Its not really easy to see in there.

Does anyone know the part number for the connector?

Im gonna try again in the morning with the airbox out.

Hello Adam,

One time my dad put some washer fluid in the tank which was a bit old and had some dust in it. This caused the rear washer nozzle to choke and the pressure from the system pushed out the pipe. I had to clean the nozzle with a needle and put the pipe back in. You can remove the nozzle to be sure you clean it well. This worked for me, hope it does for you also.

Can you hear the pump working and there is no liquid comming from the rear nozzle ? This is how it was acting in my case.

Did it click when it went back together? If not push it harder. If it did then cable tie it.

Thanks guys

No click so will try harder tomorrow.

Broken clip :(

The male part had worn so it no longer stayed in position.

New piece ordered, should have it tomorrow.

This was my preferred method of fixing it. Cut the daft connector off and sleeved the pipes with a piece of Halfords  5mm vacuum tube...

Ye if the connector is a p.i.t.a to fit then this would be plan B.

If it's just worn then it's probably the pipe, a cable tie would have probably sufficed.

this is where the clip was worn

So it wouldn't lock into the female connector.

Got the new clip but no chance of getting it to fit and eventually lost it in the engine bay :(

So went with option 2 and it's all fixed now :)

Nice one Adam
