Another day, another headlight related question.

 

When I was changing bulbs the other day, I noticed that in the area above the main/dipped beam bulbs there's another bulb that doesn't seem to do anything (I've circled it in red on the picture). I can't see mention of what it is from the manual.

 

As I've got DRL's is it possibly where the sidelight is located on none DRL equipped models?

 

 

If you have a vRS these bulbs serve no function and are not even wired. On a non vRS these bulbs are the side (parking) lights which on the vRS are dimmed DRLs, the same headlight unit is used across the whole range so on a vRS you end up with an unused bulb.
