Odd Tyre wear

Featured Replies

Anyone know what's causing the farside front tyre to wear like this? Conti sport 2's, had them on my FL vrs and didn't notice wear like that.

What, you mean small pieces / chunks of tread breaking away from the outer blocks??

I would guess a manufacturing fault.  I would have thought it may well be worth contacting the manufacturer or your tyre dealer.

Yes the chunks of tread missing on the outer blocks. The tyres are still the original conti sports that the vrs came with.

It looks like something is (or has been) rubbing on it.  Is there anything under the wing that could touch when a bump compresses the front suspension?

If it's not that then I agree it's highly likely to be a faulty tyre.

It looks Like you wheel has spun catching on something sharp on the road.

I strongly suspect that was caused by some sort of debris so wouldn't really worry about it, keep an eye on it though just to be safe.
