vRS MK2 ENGINE REPLACEMENT: ARE ALL CUSTOMERS GETTING CONSISTENT TREATMENT FROM Skoda UK andDealersips

Featured Replies

Well consistent treatment is not something Skoda UK understand with vehicles they imported that many have Fundamental Design & Manufacturing Faults and Component Quality control issues.

Thank goodness that there are Dealerships in the UK that do support some customers facing very high bills due to the position that they can get landed in when it was VW at fault.

  • Bought 2011 VRS in 2013 with 20k on clock. Noticed was using oil 1ltr every 800 miles or so shortly after my (private/auto trader/bargain) purchase. Kept mentioning to my Skoda dealer at service time

  • R4z, Mine was using 0.3 litre every 621 mile originally after the breather mod which they said was acceptable but after a month I noticed it got worst to the point of it using the one and half litres

  • There is an opinion amongst many 'experts' that aggressive running-in is actually beneficial and will ultimately result in a better cylinder wall condition and piston ring seal. How the engine is run-

I would be really grateful if anyone who has had an engine replacement, outside of warranty, with some goodwill contribution from Skoda to PM me their details. Case reference and/or registration number, perhaps name if you don't mind sharing that.

Some of you may have seen my other posts. My car is currently with Skoda requiring an engine replacement due to damage caused by a broken valve.

Skoda are offering me 60% goodwill contribution to parts and labour, so cost to me of £2,259. I know others with higher milers than mine have been offered a lot better.

BUMP.

For MrTommo of EVO Magazine, and excellent magazine and not part of the Haymarket Media Group so maybe now a Motoring Journal will

run some background to how the VW Group have been treating Customers and owners that bought lemons.

Up to now only Honest John has bothered.

Autocar just seemed to be 3 monkeys, actually EVO was i seem to remember and put the Oil use as being acceptable with

VW Polo GTI Twinchargers.

Bump again,

for another new member with a dead engine and Skoda UK thinking that being smart and pretending there were no Fundamental Design or Manufacturing faults and component choice and quality control failures is a good plan.

Hopefully someone will see Skoda UK / VW in court, but usually they assume the position once solicitors/lawyers are involved.

You know the answer George, raise in writing a case No. with all details . Use all assistance and very good example of facts on this site . See how various Owners recovered costs and the provision of a new engine. Provided not tuned and full Skoda service history all should be well. Skoda CS can't blame anyone else . Product was not fit for purpose, especially if you were in the % of engine failures.
