Sidelights staying on

Featured Replies

My sidelights ate playing up. When i switch ignition off and take out the key they come on. But when i put key in and turn ignition on, all goes back to normal. Any ideas? Cheers!

Is it just one side? I only ask because there is a 'parking light' arrangement on these cars, so if you take the key out of the ignition with the indicator stalk down, then the sidelights on whichever side the stalk is switched to will stay on.

Either that, or your car has some kind of Volvo disease! :D

Both sides mate :/

Does sound a bit like some dodgy parking like/stalk issue, or some fault in the loom (maybe?)

Well went out in the car this morning and theyve gone off now. So not sure what it was but hopefully its sorted itself out haha!

Fuse box on top of battery starting to go maybe?

Some systems controlled by the Convenience System are alive for 10 minutes after removing the key. Check if your sidelights only go out after this time as that may give a clue as to what is happening.
