Electric windows and Mirrors not working.

Featured Replies

Wondering if people can help me out, last week my electric windows stopped working, both the drivers side and the passenger side.

I have checked the correct fuses and all seem intact. I bought a replacement switch in hoping that this was the fault, but the problem still occurs.

This evening I tried my mirrors just on the off chance and low and behold they don't adjust either. The switches light up as they should do, and the lock/unlock buttons work.

Is there a joint fuse thats not listed in the handbook? Or any other suggestions what could be the fault?

Anybody got a link to a wiring diagram, going to pull the door apart later on today to check for power to the switches?

Did a scan of my Haynes manual for you...

I suspect it's the driver's side window motor / PCB that's toast. The PCB controls power windows on both sides and (windowside) button operated central locking. I haven't got electric power mirors on my car, but I would imagine it would be operated from it as well. I could be wrong though.

However, once the driver's side motor/PCB fails, the entire system that's routed through it collapses.

Thanks very much for the wiring diagram scans and the info regarding the window motor/PCB.

Just starting to strip it down now. Luckily I have my doors still off my last fabia so have a replacement motor should it be that.

Sorted the problem out in the end, the blue with a black trace wire had broken in the rubber between the car body and door, soldered a new piece of wire in and fitted heat shrink and all is well again.

Well done :)

2009 is MK2 Fabia, so you need to be in this forum http://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/113-skoda-fabia-ii/
